The band and the music
Mustard Latino is a 2 to 7 piece band of professional musicians, able
to perform 4 different styles of latin. Among the venues where we performed:
Bar Latina in Tottenham, Tanners street park in SE1, Casablanca Club in
Brighton,Tottenham Carnival, Meridien Hotel in Piccadilly, Salsa Fusion
in W1 and Havana Central in W1.
After many years performing they stand out as a band with a unique style in the salsa music scene. The intense variety of rhythms blending Latin, Jazz, Funk and Pop, creates an extraordinary atmosphere on and off the dance floor.
The line up of our band and the individual skills of the musicians, make possible a display of different styles with a wide variety of instruments. We can perform music in some cases that a 12 piece band would.The style of music includes most of the Latin American grooves(Brazilian and Afro Cuban); Samba, Bossanova, Clave, Cha-Cha-Cha with an influence from Jazz, Funk and Pop.From a six or seven piece band featuring: Drums, Bass , Keyboard, Sax, Trumpet and Vocal, Mustard Latino displays additional instruments such as percussions, flute and guitar.
Among the many song writers who distinguished themselves in the last 40 years, Mustard covers the great Tito Puente, Sergio Mendez, Astrud Gilberto, Mongo Santamaria, Stan Getz; from the more popular and contemporary: Ricky Martin, Lou Bega, Santana etc.
