Graciela Rodriguez
Born in Ourense (Spain) in 1977.
From a very early age her passion was music and singing, and at the age of 13 she began studying Guitar, Music and Singing in Schola Cantorum Sta Cecilia (Vigo,Spain).
She studied later in several academies, at the Conservatory of Music of Vigo and at the Mayeusis private Conservatory of Music specialized in Singing. She then studied Musical Teaching Sciences at the University of Vigo, doing several courses of piano, singing and music. She made a course at the II Jazz Seminar of Pontevedra, being taught by Abe Rabade and Paco Charlin (Cum Laude in Berkeley School of Music). In London she'll be studying a Vocal Jazz Post-graduate at the Royal Academy of Music the next year course 2004/2005. She joined the University of Vigo Choral, as a soloist soprano, touring around many cities of Spain and Portugal (Valencia, Barcelona, Sevilla, Vigo, Porto, Braga, Lisbon..). She also conducted several vocal groups, and she was the lead singer in classical camera orchestras, singing in weddings in the main churches and cathedrals of North-West Spain. She was chosen as one of the 80 Voices of Europe, to sing with Bjork in the year 1999/2000 through many countries of Europe as a soprano.
She won many prizes as a composer/songwriter and singer, and she collaborated with different groups, bands and orchestras: Miramar (latin), Orchestra de Jazz do Morrazo (jazz), Vortice (gothic rock), En buenas manos (hip hop), O son da eira (folk-jazz)...etc. She's been the chorus singer for puertorrican idol Yaire, and for the pop-star Liz Teuntor. She sang for the duo Tune Up (guitar + voice) doing jazz standards in a classical- intimate mood, and she was the organizer and performer in various groups doing several kind of music (Carrusel, Epsilon, Cnoc Quartet, Goldfinger...).
